FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PublishAmerica donates to Oprah's Angel Network

FREDERICK, MD. - PublishAmerica, a Maryland-based publishing company that has launched more than 13,000 authors since its founding in 1999, is proud to announce today its monetary donation to Oprah's Angel Network.

Larry Clopper, president of PublishAmerica, and other publishers met with Oprah Winfrey at the annual meeting of the Association of American Publishers (AAP) on Feb. 26, 2003, in Washington, D.C. The Association gave Ms. Winfrey the "AAP Honors," an award given annually to individuals and institutions outside the publishing industry for significant achievements in promoting American books and authors.

"Oprah Winfrey has renewed America's interest in classic literature by mentioning Shakespeare, Steinbeck and others in her speech to us, and by promoting classic literature," Clopper said. "The attention she's paid to new authors and her audience of avid readers is something for which we all are grateful."

To thank Ms. Winfrey for her passion for books, PublishAmerica donated 10 percent of its sales placed between Jan. 21 and Feb. 21 to Oprah's Angel Network. PublishAmerica also presented to Ms. Winfrey a list of the authors and book titles that helped generate the donation.

"We thank again PublishAmerica, one of our independent members, who monetarily added to the AAP Honors award," wrote Pat Schroeder, president and CEO of AAP, in a letter to publishing industry executives. Ms. Schroeder also noted that PublishAmerica's donation exceeded that of all others in the industry.

Oprah's Angel Network was established in 1997 on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" to encourage people around the world to make a difference in the lives of others. The organization seeks to provide support for non-profit organizations across the globe.
